Netsanity Release notes for latest version, available October 2016

Netsanity has introduced support for Android - Samsung in its latest release. To support Android in the dashboard, we have made significant changes and additions to the dashboard - the highlights of those changes are below.

New Enrollment Process

  • Enrolling new devices is easy for both Apple and Android devices
  • You only need a 5 digit enrollment code to either enroll an Apple or Android device
  • Apple users with iphones can get a one click enrollment link sent to them via text/sms
  • Apple users on Wifi-only device can simply go to the enrollment site and enroll with the code
  • Android users will enroll their Netsanity Device Agent from the Google Play store using their 5 digit enrollment code
  • logging in now with your administrator username and password is no longer required


New Feature for premium users for support

  • Users get a different support desk ticketing widget. Now, customers have their account pre-filled when opening tickets and needing support.
  • A chat is now available for support to logged in users
  • Knowledgebase articles are now inline and easily accessible directly in the dashboard


New Feature - Locate (Apple & Android)
  • Android users will get GPS accurate location info in the device info page
  • Apple users will get cell tower triangulation regional location info on same page


New Feature - Timeout
  • Timeout for Android Samsung instantly performs the following: Disables Internet; Disables all 3rd part apps; disables SMS texting
  • Timeout for Apple also disables the internet and optional locks the screen or hides 3rd party apps

New Feature - Disable Any App (Android Only)

  • Android for Samsung users can now disable any app that is listed in the App Info tab
  • App that is disabled will instantly be disabled from working
  • In addition if that App is also listed in Appblocker, i.e Instagram, Youtube, etc., that app will be blocked for internet access as well
  • Any app disabled will be un-clickable on the Samsung device


New Feature - Data Use Graphs (Android)

  • Android for Samsung users can now see data use for Wifi and cellular on the app info screen
  • You will see data used per day over the previous 30 days on wifi and cellular
  • You will also see any data used while roaming
  • In future releases you will be bale to set your start date and manage data usage more granularly


Here below, the parent can set the daily, weekly, or monthly maximum for cellular data 


New Feature - SMS and Phone Blocking (Android)
  • Android for Samsung users can block all SMS texting Globally or block phone calls Globally
  • Additionally you can block SMS or Phone Calls to<>from specific contacts on the device
  • A phone call history log will show calls made and received as well



New Device Restrictions (Android)

  • 4 New device restrictions are added specifically for Samsung devices


Other Miscellaneous Features and dashboard changes

  • New contextual help throughout dashboard with (?) showing users what each feature is and explains settings and functions
  • Apps that a parent blocks via the Appbocker, will also be disabled on the device if that pp is present (Android)
  • Parents can manage both Apple and Samsung devices for each user
  • Screenlock and hideapps are now options under Timeout for Apple devices
  • Baterysaver (for VPN enforcement for Apple) has been deprecated and is not in Apple preferences as VPN Enforcement with either a passive (default) state or active state. Passive will be the standard 20 minute check and active is the aggressive 3 - 5 minute check
